► Once you have completed the reading passages, review the keywords and make sure to watch the

► Once you feel that you have a solid understanding of the key topics, select your chapter exam. This
exam requires a 70% score to pass and move to the next chapter. On average it takes new students 3
attempts before achieving the minimum score. If you do not pass after your 3rd attempt, please go back
into the chapter study materials and review the information.

► Always take notes. This will help you actively engage in the learning process and grasp the key concepts.

► Make sure to review the keywords and watch the chapter review subject matter
expert videos.

► Make a reference sheet with questions and concepts that you just don’t seem to grasp. At the end of your study

Introduction

In order to obtain the Series 63 license, candidates must pass the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination
(Series 63) exam. The Series 63 exam is developed by the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The Series 63 license provides an individual with the qualifications necessary to solicit orders for any type of security in a particular state. To sell securities, agents are also required to possess a Series 6 or Series 7 license in addition to the 63.

The Series 63 exam covers knowledge of state securities acts and related rules and regulations, as well as knowledge of ethical practices and fiduciary obligations. Here is some useful information regarding the series 63 exam:

• Time Limit 1 hour and 15 minutes.

• 60 multiple choice questions

• 43 questions must be answered correctly to pass.
