Nevada Prelicensing Requirements

Individual Resident Producer Requirements

To qualify for a resident Nevada state insurance producer license, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

PreLicense Education Requirements (PLE)

Applicants must complete prelicense education (PLE) for each major line of authority (LOA), as follows:

NOTE: 1st Academy School of Insurance (Las Vegas, NV; provider 108078) is the provider of record for all Nevada internet-based prelicense education courses published and distributed by Prelicense.com (a service of WebCE). Upon successful completion of the course final exam, proctored by a disinterested third-party monitor, the student will receive a certificate of course completion from 1stAcademy School of Insurance, which will also report course completions to Sircon (thus making the student eligible for a Nevada insurance producer’s license upon passing the Nevada insurance license exam).

Certificate of Completion

1st Academy School of Insurance (Las Vegas, NV; provider 108078), the provider of record provides online certificate of completions.  An applicant must meet Nevada’s PLE requirements before a certificate of completion is issued. Certificates of completion are valid for two years from the date of course completion.

PLE course completions are reported electronically to the Nevada Division of Insurance daily.

Methods of Registration

Materials Needed to Present at Exam Site

Candidates must present two forms of current signature identification. The name on the identification must exactly match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government-issued and photo-bearing with a signature, and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature. Identification must be in English.

Applicants must pass the state licensing exam with an 80% or higher to file a license application.

Once you have submitted your application to the Division, you should log back in to the application system using your candidate transaction number to attach supporting documentation to your online application.

Fingerprinting Process

Candidates may only call MorphoTrust, USA™ at 866-761-8069 to make fingerprint reservation. Pearson VUE can not make the reservation for you. WALK-IN digital fingerprints will be available at IdentoGO by MorphoTrust, USA ™locations only NOT Pearson VUE test centers.  Click here to obtain the Fingerprint Background Waiver.

New Resident Producer Requirements
 

New residents who still hold an active license in their previous home state may not be required to complete prelicense education as long as the applicant was previously licensed for the same lines of authority.  The license applications and fees must be received within 90 days after the cancellation of the license.  The applicant must provide a letter of clearance to document the cancellation date.
